On Wednesday, 16 September 2026, Leopardstown Park Hospital held its Annual Remembrance Service in the Concert Hall. Residents, families, friends and staff came together for a special time of reflection, remembrance and celebration.
During the service, we remembered the residents who passed away over the past year, as well as staff members and the family members of staff who have passed away.
Visiting chaplains representing different faith traditions participated in the service, reflecting the diverse beliefs within our community and ensuring that the occasion was inclusive and meaningful for everyone present.
Residents from the Clevis Unit created beautiful remembrance lanterns, with one representing each person being remembered. As the names of those who had passed away were read aloud, their family members, friends or colleagues were invited to come forward and receive the lantern created in their memory. This was a particularly moving and meaningful part of the service.
Thoughtful eulogies were delivered in memory of three much-loved colleagues who passed away during the year. Music and singing also formed an important part of the service, including a beautiful choir performance. Specially prepared Orders of Service and decorations created by the Clevis Unit added greatly to the occasion.
The gathering provided an opportunity not only to reflect on our loss, but also to celebrate the lives of those who have left us and the lasting place they hold in our hearts and within the Leopardstown Park Hospital community.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and to all those who helped make the service so special. This included our residents, visiting chaplains, families, colleagues and the many teams who assisted with the preparations, invitations, music, decorations, seating, refreshments, parking and support for guests.
The kindness, dedication and teamwork shown by everyone involved made the 2026 Annual Remembrance Service a truly memorable and meaningful occasion.
