Leopardstown Park Hospital was delighted to host its annual Army Band Summer Concert on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, bringing together residents, families, veterans, staff, volunteers and community partners for a memorable afternoon of music, friendship and celebration.
Conducted by Captain John Carpenter, the Army Band delivered an outstanding performance that was enjoyed by all in attendance. The programme featured a variety of well-loved musical pieces, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon and providing many opportunities for residents and guests to sing along, reminisce and enjoy the occasion together.

The event was attended by a distinguished group of guests, reflecting the strong community connections and partnerships that continue to support Leopardstown Park Hospital. Among those in attendance were representatives from the diplomatic community, defence forces, veterans’ organisations, healthcare services, trade unions, corporate volunteer groups and community organisations.
We were honoured to welcome the British Ambassador to Ireland and her husband, together with representatives from the Royal British Legion, the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel, the Royal Air Force Association, the Health Service Executive, SIPTU, Fórsa, Hayes Solicitors, Leopardstown Park Hospital Trustees, former Board members, members of the Leopardstown Park Hospital Trust, the Leopardstown Park Hospital Veteran Group, our Volunteer Group, and corporate volunteers from MSD and AIB.
The concert provided a valuable opportunity for residents and guests to come together, strengthen existing friendships and celebrate the unique community that exists within Leopardstown Park Hospital.
Music has a remarkable ability to connect people, evoke memories and create shared experiences. The Army Band Summer Concert once again demonstrated the positive impact that music and community engagement can have on resident wellbeing and quality of life.
Leopardstown Park Hospital extends its sincere thanks to Captain John Carpenter and the Army Band for their exceptional performance and continued support. We would also like to thank all of our guests, volunteers, staff and supporters whose presence contributed to such a successful and enjoyable event.
The afternoon served as a wonderful reminder of the strong bonds that exist between Leopardstown Park Hospital, the veteran community, our partners and supporters, and the many individuals who continue to play a role in enriching the lives of our residents.
