Many Reasons to be Proud. One Community

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate diversity, inclusion, respect and belonging. It is an opportunity to recognise the richness that comes from different backgrounds, experiences, identities and perspectives, and to reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued and respected.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the many reasons we have to be proud of Leopardstown Park Hospital.

Looking back over the past twelve months, our story is not simply one of projects completed or milestones achieved. It is a story of who we are becoming as an organisation.

Together, we have continued to build a hospital community that is compassionate, innovative, inclusive and ambitious.

Reasons to be Proud

Proud of Our Residents and Families

Our residents remain at the heart of everything we do. Through meaningful engagement, activities, therapies, celebrations, outings and person-centred care, we continue to support residents to live fulfilling and connected lives while creating opportunities for families to remain actively involved in our community.

Proud of Our Staff

Across every department and discipline, staff continue to demonstrate exceptional dedication, professionalism, compassion and teamwork. Whether providing direct care, supporting residents behind the scenes, maintaining our campus, preparing meals, managing administration, coordinating activities, driving our buses, supporting governance or ensuring our facilities operate safely and efficiently, every contribution matters.

Proud of Our Community

Our connections with the wider community continue to grow stronger. Through our partnerships with the Order of Malta, Cadet Programmes, corporate volunteers, local schools, community organisations and countless volunteers, Leopardstown Park Hospital continues to be a vibrant and connected part of the wider community.

Proud of Our Campus

Over the past year, we have continued to transform and enhance our campus environment. The completion of our Sensory Garden has created a beautiful therapeutic space enjoyed by residents, families and visitors alike, and has welcomed regular visits from neighbouring organisations including St Michael’s House and LauraLynn. The introduction of our Sensory Spa and the ongoing development of our grounds further demonstrate our commitment to creating enriching, therapeutic and welcoming spaces for all.

Proud of Innovation and Improvement

Across the organisation, staff have embraced innovation, change and continuous improvement. From digital transformation projects and service developments to enhanced systems, processes and infrastructure, we continue to invest in the future of Leopardstown Park Hospital and the services we provide.

Proud of Learning and Sharing Knowledge

Throughout the year, staff have participated in conferences, educational programmes, specialist training and professional development opportunities. Teams have shared expertise both within and beyond Leopardstown Park Hospital, presenting initiatives, participating in national discussions and contributing to best practice across the healthcare sector. Programmes such as dementia education workshops delivered in partnership with St James’s Hospital reflect our commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

Proud of Growing Our Profile

Through community events, partnerships, social media engagement, educational workshops and public awareness initiatives, Leopardstown Park Hospital continues to strengthen its presence within the wider community. More people than ever are becoming familiar with the work that takes place on our campus and the positive impact it has on the lives of residents and families.

Proud of Recognition and Achievement

This year marked a significant milestone when Leopardstown Park Hospital was shortlisted as a finalist at the Irish Healthcare Awards, recognising the dedication, innovation and commitment demonstrated across the organisation. We were also delighted to secure additional National Lottery funding to support initiatives that directly enhance the lives of residents and strengthen our community.

Proud of Working Together

Whether responding to challenges, enhancing campus safety through improved traffic management arrangements, implementing new initiatives, supporting one another through change or delivering successful projects and events, our greatest achievements have come through collaboration, partnership and teamwork.

Most of All, Proud of Who We Are Becoming

The past year has seen us celebrate Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, cultural celebrations, community events and countless everyday moments that bring people together.

We have continued to create an environment where residents, families, staff, volunteers and visitors are welcomed, included and respected regardless of their background, beliefs, nationality, ethnicity, identity or life experience.

That spirit of inclusion is at the heart of Pride Month.

Taken together, these achievements tell a story that goes far beyond individual projects or initiatives. They reflect a hospital that continues to grow, innovate, invest in its people, strengthen its community connections and enhance the experience of residents, families, staff and volunteers.

Most importantly, they reflect who we are becoming as an organisation, a place where inclusion, compassion, excellence and community are not simply aspirations, but values that are lived every day.

As we celebrate Pride Month 2026, let us also celebrate the many reasons we have to be proud of Leopardstown Park Hospital and proud of the community we continue to build together.

Thank you for everything you do.

Happy Pride Month to all.
