On behalf of the Board, residents, families, volunteers, and staff of Leopardstown Park Hospital, CEO Adrian Ahern extends sincere thanks and best wishes to Reverend John Tanner, who retired on Friday, 27 February 2026, following many years of devoted service as Hospital Chaplain.

His compassion, presence, and pastoral care have provided comfort and support to countless residents, families, and staff over the years. His contribution to life here has been immense, and we are sincerely grateful for his dedication and kindness.”

Reverend Tanner has been a constant and reassuring presence within the hospital, supporting residents through companionship, spiritual guidance, and pastoral care, and offering comfort to families and colleagues alike.

A farewell tea gathering was held to mark his retirement and to thank him for his years of commitment and service. Residents, staff, and colleagues came together to reflect on his lasting impact and to wish him well in his retirement.

Reflecting on his time at Leopardstown Park Hospital, Reverend Tanner shared:

“It has been an honour and privilege to have been able to contribute to Chaplaincy and the pastoral care of residents and staff over the years. I will miss my weekly visits.”

Reverend Tanner’s warmth, dedication, and quiet support have left a lasting legacy within Leopardstown Park Hospital. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him every happiness and fulfilment in his retirement.
