Members of the Leopardstown Park Hospital team had the privilege of visiting Louvain, Belgium, for an engaging and insightful day with our hosts Jo De Clercq and his team at Woonzorgnet-Dijleland.

The visit included tours of Burenhof and WZC Ter Meeren, two of Woonzorgnet-Dijleland’s most recent developments. These centres showcase the Small-Scale Normalised Living concept, combined with innovative design and assistive technologies, offering residents a home-like, empowering environment.

We came away inspired and energised, with practical, innovative ideas that we look forward to exploring and implementing in Leopardstown Park Hospital, particularly as we prepare for our own upcoming development projects.

We extend our sincere thanks to Jo and his team for generously sharing their knowledge and first-hand experiences with us. Our appreciation also goes to our colleagues in HSE Dublin and South East and HSE Estates for their support in attending alongside us.

This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred care through innovation, best practice, and learning from international leaders in elder care.
