Leopardstown Park Hospital Attends Annual Islandbridge Commemoration

Saturday, 11 July 2026

Leopardstown Park Hospital was honoured to attend the Annual Commemoration and Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Islandbridge, on Saturday, 11 July 2026.

The annual ceremony brings together veterans, families, and representatives from across the community to remember and honour those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice. It was a moving and respectful occasion, providing an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have gone before us.

Representing Leopardstown Park Hospital were Terence, Paul, and John; Ann Akin, who supported everyone throughout the day; Tony, our driver, who ensured everyone travelled safely to and from the event; Joan O’Neill, representing the veteran community; and LPH CEO Adrian Ahern.

The opportunity to attend this important annual commemoration reflects Leopardstown Park Hospital’s continued commitment to supporting and recognising our veteran community. Events such as these provide a meaningful opportunity to remember those who served, strengthen community connections, and ensure that their legacy continues to be honoured.

We extend our sincere thanks to the organisers of this year’s ceremony and to everyone who represented Leopardstown Park Hospital with such dignity and pride.
