Leopardstown Park Hospital was honoured to be represented at the National Day of Commemoration 2026, held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, where Chief Executive Adrian Ahern attended the national ceremony.
The National Day of Commemoration is a significant annual event that honours all Irish men and women who gave their lives in past wars or while serving with the United Nations on peacekeeping missions. The ceremony, hosted by the President of Ireland, brings together representatives from across the public service, the Defence Forces, veterans’ organisations, and communities from throughout the country.
During the event, Adrian had the opportunity to meet President Catherine Connolly, with whom he previously worked during their time in the HSE in Galway. Following the ceremony, the Office of the President kindly provided photographs commemorating the occasion.
Leopardstown Park Hospital has a long and proud association with veterans and remains committed to recognising and supporting those who have served their country. Attendance at this national event reflects the Hospital’s enduring connection with the veteran community and our ongoing commitment to honouring their service and sacrifice.
