Minister for Health Invites Applications for Board Positions at Leopardstown Park Hospital
The Minister for Health has announced an invitation for applications from suitably qualified individuals to serve as Ordinary Members on the Board of Leopardstown Park Hospital, as well as for inclusion on a panel for future vacancies. This recruitment process aims to strengthen the governance and strategic leadership of the hospital as it continues its long-standing commitment to delivering high-quality residential, rehabilitative, and specialist services.
Leopardstown Park Hospital, with its unique historical connection to military veterans and its evolving role within Ireland’s health and social care landscape, relies on a diverse, skilled Board to oversee its mission, uphold strong governance, and ensure excellence in care.
Role Overview
The Minister for Health invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Ordinary Member on the Board of Leopardstown Park Hospital.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate evidence, at an appropriately senior level, of experience in at least two of the following areas:

Health sector knowledge and experience

Financial experience across accounting, audit, financial risk management, or other relevant financial disciplines

Experience at a senior executive level of management and/or an equivalent advisory level providing strategic advice to Boards and/or senior executive teams
Desirable Criteria
It is also desirable that candidates demonstrate senior-level experience in the following areas:

A relevant professional accountancy or finance qualification
-
Communications, marketing, media, or public relations
-
Community engagement or activism
-
Experience of regulation within the health sector and/or other relevant health sector experience

Legal experience
-
Experience in corporate functions such as governance and compliance, finance, HR, or risk

Military experience at senior level, in recognition of the hospital’s historical relationship with military veterans as formalised in the Leopardstown Park Establishment Order
