Order of Malta Announces 2026 International Lourdes Pilgrimage

Subsidised Assisted-Pilgrim Places Available for Leopardstown Park Hospital Residents

Leopardstown Park Hospital is pleased to share information from the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta – Irish Association regarding the 2026 International Lourdes Pilgrimage, taking place 30th April – 5th May 2026.

This year’s pilgrimage will depart from Dublin Airport, with five nights’ full-board accommodation in Lourdes. The Order of Malta has confirmed that assisted pilgrim places (Accueil Guests) are being offered at a significantly subsidised rate, supporting residents who wish to participate in this longstanding spiritual and community event.

Pilgrimage Overview

🗓 Dates: Thursday 30th April – Tuesday 5th May 2026

🏨 Duration: 5 nights, full board
👥 Supported Pilgrimage: Includes care from trained and qualified Order of Malta personnel

Accommodation will be provided in the Hotels Roissy, Astoria or Jeanne d’Arc, with room allocation based strictly on receipt of completed booking forms and deposits.

Costs

A non-refundable €200 deposit is required to secure a place.
Booking deadline: 10 January 2026
Final payment due: 28 March 2026

A single-room supplement of €46 per night applies (limited availability).

Travel insurance is not included, but may be purchased from the travel agent. All participants must provide proof of travel insurance before travelling.

Medical Forms & Nursing Assessment

For assisted pilgrims staying in the Accueil Notre Dame, medical forms and nursing assessments must be completed in advance.
Deadline for medical form submission: 1 March 2026

All Guests must remain in the Accueil, and acceptance onto the pilgrimage will depend on completion of assessment and the ability of the medical team to provide necessary support.

Dialysis & Medical Supports

Pilgrims requiring dialysis must notify the Order of Malta no later than 7th February 2026.
Wheelchairs are welcome, and wheelchairs can be provided in Lourdes free of charge.
Motorised wheelchairs and scooters are strictly limited due to airline restrictions.

Booking Procedure

All participants must complete the online pilgrimage booking form, including those organising their own travel or accommodation.

A Pilgrimage Registration Fee of €80 applies to all pilgrims (included in the standard fare).

Bookings are not confirmed until both a completed form and deposit have been received. Places are limited and allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
